The Project Snapshot
Located at the University of Victoria, the National Centre for Indigenous Law Building landscape was designed to support Indigenous learning, reflection, and cultural continuity within an academic setting.
The outdoor environment serves as an extension of the building itself, providing spaces for gathering, teaching, and quiet contemplation. The design responds directly to campus circulation patterns, climate conditions, and the cultural importance of land as a place of learning.
Veenstra Consulting delivered a landscape that balances restraint with intention, allowing the space to remain adaptable, respectful, and deeply connected to its educational purpose.
